For continuous-operation industries such as power plants, marine engineering, and petrochemicals, clean lubricating oil is vital for equipment reliability. The YOYIK SPL-100 Duplex Mesh Filter (Duplex Screen Filter) is a heavy-duty inline filtration unit designed for lube oil and fuel oil systems. It enables filter cleaning or element replacement without shutting down the host machine — a key advantage for diesel engines, turbines, compressors, and industrial lubrication systems.
With a nominal bore of 100 mm and a rated flow of 80 m³/h, the SPL-100 fills the gap between the SPL-80 (50 m³/h) and SPL-125 (120 m³/h), making it an ideal choice for mid-to-large scale lubrication systems.
Key Features
- Non-stop maintenance – Dual-chamber design with a built-in transfer valve allows seamless switching between two filter housings. One chamber can be cleaned while the other stays online, eliminating production downtime.
- Durable wire mesh elements – Filter discs are made of high-strength carbon steel mesh, stainless steel plain/twill weave mesh, and stainless steel backing mesh. They resist corrosion, withstand repeated cleaning, and maintain mechanical stability.
- Flexible filtration precision – Standard accuracy ranges from 5 to 80 μm. Customised grades are available upon request. Mesh count options from 10 to 363 mesh (see YOYIK’s precision table for details).
- Low pressure drop, high flow capacity – At rated flow with 24 cSt clean oil, initial pressure drop ≤0.08 MPa. Recommended cleaning Δp = 0.15 MPa, ensuring energy-efficient operation.
- Wide application range – Max operating temperature ≤95°C, max working pressure ≤0.8 MPa. Suitable for lubricating oil, fuel oil, and other non-corrosive light oils.
- Easy servicing – No external power source needed. The disc pack can be disassembled and cleaned individually. Spare parts are standardised and interchangeable across the SPL series.
Working Principle
The YOYIK SPL-100 mesh screen filter operates on a simple but effective parallel switching principle:
- Normal filtration – Oil enters the filter and is directed by the transfer valve to one chamber (e.g., chamber A). It passes through the stack of wire mesh discs; contaminants are retained on the outer surface of the disc pack, while clean oil flows from the inner core to the outlet.
- Switching for cleaning – When the pressure drop across chamber A reaches 0.15 MPa, the operator rotates the transfer valve handle. Oil flow shifts smoothly to chamber B. Chamber A is now isolated from the main oil circuit, allowing safe removal and cleaning of its disc pack.
- Return to standby – After cleaning, chamber A is reassembled and the valve can be switched again to bring it back to standby. The two chambers alternate roles, ensuring continuous filtration.
This entire process requires zero shutdown, and switching induces minimal flow pulsation, protecting sensitive system components from pressure shocks.
Product Construction (Key Components)
Although no diagram is provided here, the main structural parts of the SPL-100 Duplex Filter are as follows:
- Housing (twin chambers) – Welded steel body, each chamber fitted with a bolted or hinged cover for easy access.
- Filter disc pack – A stack of metal mesh discs mounted on a central core. The number of discs depends on the required flow and filtration area.
- Transfer valve assembly – A three-way or four-way valve that directs inlet flow to either chamber and isolates the other. The handle provides clear position indication.
- Differential pressure indicator (optional) – Alerts when the disc pack requires cleaning, typically set at 0.15 MPa.
- Drain & vent ports – For safe depressurisation and draining before maintenance.

Maintenance & Care Tips
To ensure long trouble-free service from your YOYIK SPL-100 Duplex Wire Mesh Filter, follow these recommended practices:
- Monitor pressure drop regularly – Clean the filter disc pack when Δp reaches 0.15 MPa. If Δp remains high after cleaning, check for damaged discs or incorrect stacking.
- Clean discs properly – Remove the disc pack and soak in clean diesel or kerosene. Use a soft bristle brush – never a wire brush. Compressed air back-flushing or ultrasonic cleaning is also effective for stainless steel mesh. Examine each disc for tears or deformation.
- Operate the transfer valve with care – Ensure the target chamber is fully assembled and pressurised before switching. Turn the handle slowly to avoid hydraulic shock. Lock the handle in the detent position after switching.
- Inspect seals and gaskets – Replace the main cover O-ring or flat gasket every time the cover is opened if signs of wear or hardening appear. Check the valve stem seal for leakage.
- Keep spare parts on site – Stock a complete disc pack and a set of seals. Record cleaning intervals and Δp readings to plan predictive maintenance.
- Long-term storage – Drain the filter completely, clean and dry internals, then close all ports. Store in a dry, ventilated area to prevent rust.
